Position Overview:
We are seeking a Junior-Mid Java Developer with a generalist approach to join our dynamic and passionate team. At Rockbite Games, we value an engineering mindset over the knowledge of specific tools or frameworks. We believe in fostering creativity and innovation while working collaboratively to deliver outstanding gaming experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including game designers, artists, and other developers, to design and implement new features and improvements for our mobile games.
- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient Java code to ensure the performance and quality of our games.
- Debug, optimize, and troubleshoot software issues to ensure a smooth gaming experience for our players.
- Contribute to the development of innovative gaming solutions
Required qualifications
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Knowledge of Java or other OOP programming languages
- Strong understanding of software engineering principles and design patterns.
- Ability to work in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment.
- Passion for gaming and a deep appreciation for player experiences.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Self-motivated with a strong desire to learn and adapt to new technologies
Required candidate level: Junior
Additional information
Nice-to-Have:
- Experience with mobile game development.
- Familiarity with game engines such as Unity, Unreal Engine.
- Knowledge of other programming languages and technologies (C++, JS, C#, C, etc).
- Previous experience working in the gaming industry.
- Experience using libGDX/OpenGL or other low-level 2D graphics library
