BostonGene is pioneering biomedical software to identify novel and personalized treatment options through next-generation multi-platform analytics, advancing and optimizing outcomes for cancer patients.

We perform comprehensive integrated genomic (WES) and transcriptomic (RNA-seq) testing of tumors and tumor microenvironments, which equips doctors with actionable intelligence that helps identify individual treatment plans. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Manager with a background in life sciences (e.g., Bioinformatics, Molecular Biology, Genetics, Immunology) and a proven track record in managing cross-team projects in the fields of Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS), automation, and optimizing processes. As a Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving innovation and success within our dynamic organization.

In this role, you will guide cross-functional projects associated with LIMS, automation, and bioinformatics. Your role extends throughout the entire project lifecycle, ensuring each stage, from conception to delivery.

The main focus of the projects will be to orchestrate new product launches and improve existing processes for our main products.


Job responsibilities

  • Project Management: Lead cross-team projects related to LIMS, automation, and bioinformatics overseeing the entire project lifecycle from conception to delivery. Ensure the timely accomplishment of milestones, tasks, and deliverables, guaranteeing successful project execution and completion.
  • Process Optimization: Apply your experience in process optimization to streamline workflows, improve data management, and enhance overall operational efficiency.
  • Documentation and task management: Create and maintain detailed documentation of workflows, processes, and best practices. Utilize Jira for task management, tracking, and communication within the project team. Take ownership of updating and circulating regular project updates and workflow assignments.
  • Communication Skills: Showcase effective communication skills to enhance collaboration and coordination among diverse teams. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, actively engaging in the ongoing exchange of information and fostering communication between key stakeholders.
  • Risk Management and Issue Resolution: Identify potential risks and challenges associated with ongoing projects.
  • Life Science, LIMS, and Automation Expertise: Utilize your knowledge of molecular biology, LIMS processes and development, and principles of automation to help optimize the respective processes.


Required qualifications

  • Master's in Bioinformatics, Biology, Medicine, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of relevant work experience, including project management in the field of LIMS, automation, bioinformatics, and process optimization.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a collaborative, interdisciplinary team environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Acquaintance with programming languages commonly used in bioinformatics (e.g., Python, R).
  • Experience with high-throughput sequencing data annotation.
  • Familiarity with molecular biology and genomics data, including NGS technologies.
  • Fluency in English and Russian.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized; a systematic approach to process-oriented tasks.
