We are currently seeking a skilled and dedicated Fixed Asset & Materials Accountant to join our team at TUMO as a 10-month replacement for maternity leave. The Fixed Asset & Materials Accountant has a critical role in maintaining the organization's fixed assets and materials. This includes establishing and overseeing internal controls and procedures to ensure compliance. They are responsible for recording the acquisition and disposal of fixed assets, recording transactions related to assets into the Armosft, tracking ongoing construction projects, and conducting monthly reconciliations between the Fixed Asset & Materials subsidiary ledger and the general ledger.

A significant part of the role involves managing the organization's fixed assets & materials, which can encompass both tangible and intangible assets. This includes accurately recording the cost of newly acquired assets, tracking existing ones, and calculating and documenting their depreciation. Additionally, they investigate the potential obsolescence of assets.

Fixed assets, such as heavy equipment, real estate, and durable furniture, have substantial financial implications for the company. As a result, a specialized Fixed Asset & Materials Accountant is essential to oversee their accounting.

Key responsibilities of the Fixed Asset & Materials Accountant include:

• Establish and oversee procedures, controls, and forms for recording fixed assets and materials

• Suggest updates to accounting policies related to fixed assets and materials

• Assign tag numbers to track fixed assets

• Maintain records in the accounting system for newly acquired, disposed, and existing assets

• Track and record project costs for fixed assets and materials, closing accounts upon project completion

• Reconcile the Fixed Asset & materials subsidiary ledger with the general ledger

• Calculate depreciation for all fixed assets

• Update the accumulated depreciation schedule and fixed asset records

• Calculate asset retirement obligations where applicable

• Assess assets for potential obsolescence

• Conduct periodic reviews of intangible asset impairments

• Provide recommendations for the disposal of fixed assets to management

• Perform analyses related to Fixed Asset & materials as requested by management

• Collaborate with auditors on Fixed Asset & materials audit schedules

• Represent the company in audits related to fixed assets.

Անհրաժեշտ հմտություններ

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance or a similar role

• Knowledge of Accounting Principles

• Desirable: Work experience with Armsoft accounting software, especially ArmSoft Enterprise

• Familiarity with fixed assets, materials, and General Ledger

• Proficiency in Excel

• Strong communication and analytical skills.
