Job responsibilities

• Design and implement a high-availability architecture for MySQL in a high-load environment using AWS or an alternative cloud platform
• Configure and optimize MySQL for performance and scalability in the cloud environment
• Set up replication, clustering, or sharding based on workload characteristics to ensure high availability and fault tolerance
• Implement automated failover and monitoring mechanisms to minimize downtime and ensure data consistency
• Integrate Clickhouse and Postgres for specific use cases, such as analytics or specific data processing requirements
• Experience in fine-tuning server configurations for optimal performance and stability
• Proficiency in optimizing the operating system for database server workloads
• Ability to analyze and interpret advanced database metrics to optimize performance and troubleshoot issues
• Establish comprehensive monitoring solutions to track database performance, availability, and resource utilization effectively
• Experience working with complex database topologies, including multi-master replication, distributed databases, and high-availability setups

Required qualifications

• Extensive experience in setting up high availability (HA) configurations for MySQL databases in high-load environments
• Proficiency in working with cloud services such as AWS or other cloud platforms for deploying and managing databases
• Strong expertise in configuring and optimizing ClickHouse and Postgres databases for performance and scalability
• Deep understanding of server configuration for optimal database performance, including tuning OS settings for database workloads
• Advanced knowledge of reading and interpreting complex database metrics to identify performance bottlenecks and optimize database performance
• Proven experience in setting up comprehensive monitoring solutions for databases to ensure high availability and performance
• Hands-on experience in working with complex database topologies, including sharding, replication, clustering, and distributed architectures
• Strong troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve database issues quickly, minimizing downtime and ensuring data integrity
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
• Relevant certifications in database administration, cloud services, or related fields would be a plus
