Job responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable and robust data pipelines to ingest, process, and transform large volumes of data from diverse sources. Ensure data integrity, reliability, and efficiency throughout the pipeline lifecycle.
• Develop and optimize data models and schemas to support analytics, reporting, and machine learning initiatives.
• Implement best practices for data storage, indexing, and querying to enable fast and accurate data retrieval and analysis.
• Design and implement automated ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to streamline data integration and transformation tasks. Leverage orchestration tools and frameworks to schedule, monitor, and manage ETL workflows efficiently.
• Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimizations to improve data processing speed and resource utilization. Develop and maintain monitoring solutions to ensure data pipeline health and reliability.
• Implement data governance policies and procedures to ensure data privacy, security, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to establish data quality standards and enforce data management best practices.

Required qualifications

• Extensive experience in data engineering concepts, techniques, and tools, including but not limited to data modeling, ETL development, and data warehouse technologies.
• Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in data engineering, such as Python, SQL, Scala, or Java. Ability to write efficient, maintainable code for data processing and manipulation tasks.
• Hands-on experience with big data technologies and frameworks.
• Familiarity with distributed computing principles and parallel processing techniques.
• Expertise in database management systems (DBMS) such as MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or NoSQL databases like MongoDB or Cassandra. Experience in database design, and optimization.
• Ability to design and implement scalable data warehouse architectures.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot data issues, optimize performance, and develop innovative solutions to complex data engineering challenges.
• A team player with a proactive and results-oriented approach.
